As the Founder and Chair of the NHS England National Social Prescribing Student Champion Scheme and the Global Alliance & Clinical Champion Lead at the National Academy of Social Prescribing, Bogdan has a vast experience in transforming healthcare at a national and international level. Dr. Bogdan is known for his work alongside the UK government to reinvent healthcare and adapt it to the needs of the 21st century through Social Prescribing. This novel approach recognises that people’s health and wellbeing are determined mostly by a range of social, economic and environmental factors and social prescribing aims to address people’s needs in a holistic way. Dr. Bogdan is helping communities, universities and governments all around the world to revolutionise healthcare by supporting individuals to take greater control through their own health.
Dr. Bogdan Chiva Giurca is a London-based, award-winning clinician with an interest in health and healthy living.
Healthy body, healthy mind, healthy living
As a collaborator and fellow of the Harvard Global Health Institute, he aims to empower both medical students and members of the public to take control over their health through a more holistic approach for a healthy body, healthy mind and healthy living.
Dr. Bogdan co-authoring the Global Social Prescribing Alliance Playbook which was launched at the Global Solutions Summit 2021 in Berlin - an event which proposes policy responses to major global problems, addressed by the G20, the G7 and other global governance fora.
